Title: Modem monthly rental charge
Post by: bobsapp on January 26 2009 04:24am
Hi,

I'm considering going broadband with Cytanet. They said the access costs around €13.23 per month, for a 1mb connection. Fine. But then they said I need to pay another €20 or so per month for the 'ichoice modem'.
Just to get it clear - ichoice provides the DSL network, right? And Cytanet are simply an internet provider, that uses the ichoice network, right so far?
Must I pay the €20 / month for the modem? Can't I supply my own DSL modem?
Or, is this a "terminology confusion" - when they say I'm paying €20 / month for the "modem", do they mean I am paying for access to the ichoice network (and not simply renting a hardware modem)?

Thanks for any clarification.

Cheers

Bob

Hello,

What they told you about 'i-choice modem' is inaccurate.

I-choice does provide you with a modem, but what you pay for is to use the i-choice platform, not the modem. In fact you can replace the i-choice modem with your own, and you will still need to pay i-choice the exact same amount every month.

For 1Mbit connection with i-choice+cytanet you will need to pay €20.13 + €13.23 every month. (plus €16.02 for the phone line, but most probably you are already paying that)

Please see the "Cost scenarios" at our i-choice page:
