Title: Cablenet HD. Worth it?
Post by: georget on June 15 2010 10:53pm

I have recently added the HD package in my subscription to Cablenet presuming that with the HD Receiver I could get the RIK HD with it.
My mistake, you can’t and I don’t know why. It’s odd.
OK the money is not much only 5 Euros per month, but even with this price is it worth it?

I went through the same thing exactly but not my mistake. Cablenet assured me (3 different people) that it would pick up PIK HD - wrong (where do they hire their staff??!)  5 Euros per month for Eurosport HD and one other channel is most definitely not worth it, especially as I would need another box for PIKHD!!  I returned it next day - keep you 60 euros per year until a real HD option is made available - maybe next year via Digital......

rikHD is a free trial channel through digital signal..it has nothing to do with cablenet..maybe in the future when all the free channels become digital and become official

is not only 5 Euros for the Digital HD TV
is 5 for the HDTV + 6 for the Digital TV.
Having to pay 5 more extra for 2 HD chanells is not worthy.
Btw the speeds
i have been using RS PREMIUM accounts and get speeds to 650 KB/s now the account is over the speeds are mediocre.
For example buffering for a youtube video takes a lot of time.
Im in Nicosia Pinging limasol via speedtest is the 1/3 th of that that i get than pinging Nicosia

It’s been 2 weeks now since I have added HD package and is definitely not worth it.

About the speeds, as a said in a previous post my download speeds is not bad but my browsing is terrible(Specially at evenings).
I have contact support numerous times with no luck.
They keep telling me that is my network problem, probably a virus.

I have tried everything with my Network, disconnect everything, and scan for virus. But nothing.
I have also notice that almost all of my neighbours have Cablenet now, so I think maybe is a bandwidth problem.
