According to the latest figures by the Cyprus Statistical Service (http://www.mof.gov.cy/mof/cystat/statistics.nsf/index_en/index_en?OpenDocument) 2007 was the year when Broadband usage in households has overtaken that of Dial-up.

In 2006 65.3% of the households that accessed the Internet used Dial-up to do so and only 33% used broadband. In 2007 broadband usage in households rose to 51.2% while Dial-up dropped to 48.4%.

Unfortunately Internet usage from home in general remains low in comparison with other EU countries with only 38.9% of the households accessing the Internet during 2007. That is only a slight improvement from the 36.7% figure of 2006.

You may find the complete reports in xsl format here (http://www.cyprusbroadband.net/internet-usage-cyprus.html).

You can also check out the 2007 Eurostat Internet usage report (http://epp.eurostat.ec.europa.eu/cache/ITY_OFFPUB/KS-QA-07-023/EN/KS-QA-07-023-EN.PDF) to compare Internet usage in Cyprus with that of the other 26 EU countries.
