Title: Triple Play Price Comparisons. Primetel is the most expensive!!!! Post by: efty on October 20 2008 11:46am I made a small excel sheet with all the triple play providers in Cyprus
excluding all special offers currently available, in order to calculate the actual monthly cost after the special offers expire. For comparison reasons I have used the following standards a) At least 1mbit Internet connection b) LTV and Alpha Included in package c) At least 1 telephone line d) All Special offers are excluded from the prices e) All prices include VAT I was hopping to include no fair use policy but primetel has once which would have excluded them. You will be surprised to find out that Primetel is the most expensive provider in Cyprus. Cyta comes second most expensive and least expensive is Cablenet. Have in mind that Cyta's Price can be further reduced by using an alternative/cheaper/better? ISP Here is the excel screenshot attached and a small summary Monthly Charges after 1st year Cablenet 57.34 Euros Cyta 88.14 Euros Primetel 101.88 Euros With these kind of prices do you expect Primetel to get any marketshare? Who do they think they are fooling!!! I hope the OCECPR will allow Cyta to drop the prices because primetel has been taking advantage of the situation for far too long!!! All of you considering PrimeTel stay clear unless they reduce their prices significantly!! If Cablenet can do it them primetel should be able to offer the same thing. Title: Re: Triple Play Price Comparisons. Primetel is the most expensive!!!! Post by: efty on October 20 2008 02:59pm 2 mbits is not available by all triple play providers hence I did not include it.

Title: Re: Triple Play Price Comparisons. Primetel is the most expensive!!!! Post by: Admin on October 20 2008 06:02pm Thank you for the very useful research efty.
You made a small mistake though because the annual price for LTV/ALPHA for MiVision should be 307.80 and not 25.65. If you correct this then Primetel is cheaper than Cyta. Also i-choice 1Mbps package comes with 128Kbps upload, and not 256Kbps like Primetel. The 1st year monthly fee for Primetel in practice will be much lower because Primtel always has several special offers for new customers. These are limited time offers however, and after they expire a customer of Primetel will not be saving much in comparison with what he would be paying for a similar service from Cyta. I have updated the chart with the proper pricing for Cyta and added a features list. Unfortunately I do not know if cablenet provides Wifi and static ip by default. Anyone with cablenet please let me know and I will update accordingly. Unfortunately I cannot upload excel sheets so you will have to stick to images Title: Re: Triple Play Price Comparisons. Title: Re: Triple Play Price Comparisons. Primetel is the most expensive!!!! Post by: efty on October 27 2008 04:32pm I used primetel platform.
Netway and Spidernet do not offer triple play via Cyta's platform. Title: Re: Triple Play Price Comparisons. Primetel is the most expensive!!!! Post by: efrem on October 29 2008 07:23am Cablenet provides Only static Ip to all connections
and they Do NOT provide wi-fi. their cable modem has ONLY 1 ethernet port and One USB port. No Wi-Fi if you want it you can buy from their shop for 60 euros or you can buy your own (http://www.arrisi.com/product_catalog/_docs/_lowres/TM502B.jpg) Title: Re: Triple Play Price Comparisons. Primetel is the most expensive!!!! Post by: efrem on October 31 2008 07:53am brilliant!!! ;) a small correction in in Two-Play comparison chart:
1. Primetel & Cablenet have Static IP. 2. Cablenet also have NO Fair Use Policy and NO 1+ yearly Contract and i didn't noticed any Port Filtering so they don't filter it |
