I have been a subscriber to Primetel for 3 years and until recently found the service acceptable.
However, ever since their double speed upgrade for free, my internet speed is LOWER than prior to the "upgrade". Numerous phone calls have resulted in no improvement, after more than 2 months of calling customer service. I was told that I seem to use the internet alot and suspect that they are deliberately slowing my internet connection, but they still charge me for the faster line service. Primetel's service is what I would consider very poor.
The regulation of internet services in Cyprus is also poor and there needs to be an independent monitoring and complaints office.

+1 i have the same problem since so called "double speeds upgrade" everything seems so much slower than before the upgrade ,download, youtube i think they are throttling the http traffic allot soon you will see them throttling and the torrent traffic , I've also contacted primetel and they told me they will call me next day and send me a technician to check why my connection its so slow but they never called back Wink we need to boycott them

same here. their service has degraded a lot since the double speed increase. and the stupid part is that i didn't even get a double speed increase because 4 months ago the price for 4mbit was 39 (which was supposed to be double speed for a year). Now they say its just the case that i got double speed for ever at that price. So basically i got nothing. They already had these double speeds a long time ago for the new customers.

if you ask about caverage they dont have coverage plan even 24MB ,
so what they make there are  customers fool.......

Like This matter Cyprus Telecommunication authority sleep ....
they have to enforce new regulation of Quality of Services for All broadband service providers,

IMHO Primetel is the best Internet provider on Cyprus. I use it more then 4 years and don't have any unsolved problems. Also note that the line from your house/apartment comes to CYTA box and after that to Primetel one. So, Primetel cannot control CYTA's part. For example, CYTA needs 3-4 working days to just connect back the wire which was disconnected by its stupid stuff! And if it waas connected back wrongly it'll need another 3-4 days to fix it.

Only Cablenet probably can be compared with Primetel. But Cablenet coverage in Limassol is very bad. I'm not talking about CYTA because had very very bad experience with both quality of work of CYTA technicians and support.

Recently (one month) became a Primetel user.

I emailed their help desk for info regarding using their modem and connecting a wifi router to (access throughout house. I also asked about changing channel, using USB ports on their modem.

Sometime later I received a reply stating that "For security reasons we do not allow access to our customers on to our modem" (apparently I can't even change channel).

I'm also informed that all ports to one IP 192.168.2.10; which I can use for piggy-backing a router. Should I wish to do this they can turn off the wifi on their modem (I was told in a phone call that it would cost me €29-95 to turn it back on).
