CABLE BROADBAND
Cablenet
CABLENET
Cablenet is the only Cable TV and Cable Internet carrier in Cyprus. Currently the coverage is limited only to several urban areas. The difference between Cable Internet and ADSL is that unlike ADSL (I-choice, Primetel) that connect you to the internet via the telephone line that is already installed in your home, you connect to Cablenet with a separate coaxial cable that is installed to your home once you purchase the service. Therefore, connecting to the Internet through Cablenet is independent of your telephone carrier. Cablenet also offers an ADSL product which is available at more locations. Cablenet coverageCablenet has a limited coverage. You can find out whether your area is covered by Cablenet by entering your postal code in this form. Cablenet TV channelsAll packages of Cablenet include a number of Cypriot and International satellite television channels. A unique characteristic of Cablenet is that for no additional cost you can watch three different television channels from three different television sets around your home at the same time. If you would like a Cable TV without the Internet you can take the cable/view+ package for €17.90 per month. Cablenet Internet connectivityCablenet has several surf+view (internet + TV) packages as well as talk+surf+view (telephony + Internet + TV) packages. All of the packages below include Internet connectivity as well as several Cypriot and Satellite Analog TV channels. The "Family" and nitro HD+ packages come with both Analog and Digitat TV Channels while the nitro HD+ package offers HD TV channels. All Cablenet prices on this page include VAT.
ADSL Double PlayCablenet now also offers Internet and telephony services through ADSL2. The ADSL packages do not include TV.

reviewer: luke51july 13 2012 12:10pm Based in Limassol, have analogue TV. For several months Sky News has had problems with sound/vision sync being out, usually by several seconds. I have had one of their engineers out who confirmed that the problem is theirs (thereby avoiding their charge of €60 had it been at my end). I have repeatedly reported it, it occasionally gets a temporary fix and the following day the same problem again. What seems to be happening is that at around 2330 each evening, the channel begins to lose signal strength, which eventually drops down to virtually zer and freezes. This takes around 30 minutes. When the signal returns, the sync is out. Two additional points - this problem does not occur on their digital platform and I have confirmed it with other subscribers. It seems they are not capable of fixing it. Does anyone else (especially in other areas) has this specific problem? 702

(maybe because I am mostly zapping as I don't like TV)I will try to check this around 23:15 - 00:00 in the next days and I will keep you posted. 703
reviewer: stefandemjuly 16 2012 04:07pm I have checked sky news on Sunday and Monday and there is nothing wrong with it. 704
reviewer: luke51july 17 2012 06:33am Many thanks for your efforts. In my original post I failed to say that this only occurs on their analogue service - the digital platform is not affected at all. So far I have only had the problem from Limassol based subscribers. 705
