The prices of ADSL in Cyprus are the worst prices in europe.
Greece installed ADSL connections 2-3 years after Cyprus and the connections are higher and prices much lower.

24mbit connections in Greece are offered between 19.39 euros and 29.90 per month (including VAT) Free wifi router etc.

The i-choice contract we sign says that if you cause any damage to the modem/equipment you will have to pay for it. In Greece it belongs to you.

Also the i-choice contract says that if there are any problems with the connection (because of their fault) they will not be held responsible towards you.
In Greece, an ISP called Vivodi sent me a letter apologizing for some low speeds I was having for a week and they offered me two months ABSOLUTELY FREE connection. Please have in mind that I didn't complain to them about the low speeds.

Here is a review of ADSL connections in Greece.
I think it's time for me to cancel my contract. I am not willing to continue paying those thieves in Cyprus.

in Greece they pay for 24mbit but the actual speed they get doesnt even get close to that they might get 10mbit, or their modem doesnt synchronize so they stay with less speed packages

this might be true but it still does not lowers the price for the ADSL here  Sad
In my country 25mbits comes for only 10 euro per month / 12 month contract.

its not only cyta its all the providers with one or another way have same prices in cyprus. dont forget we are an island and needs a lot of money and time to put underwater cables.also government isnt helping much when they need years to vote and accept in the parliament new proposes for lower prices and let providers to indroduce new services for competition. also in the last 5 years cypriots started to adopt the adsl service and use it a lot and because of this they should lower prices when almost all houses have adsl

I have a friend in Greece. He is connected with 24mbps on forthnet, pays 19.90 per month and his actual speed is 21mbps. he is downloading 2.8 megabytes in one second.
It's only a matter of distance to the DSLAM.

Crete and Rhodes and so many greek islands need underwater cables but they do have superfast connections. Cypriot ISPs are like mosquitos. They just suck blood.
Cypriots adopted adsl 6 years ago and greeks 4 years ago.

I propose to arrange a protest before all ISP-s. We should bring posters and, shout loudly: Low Prices for ADSL. Then we can finish with throwing chicken eggs on the doors and windows. Grin
