I happen to be moving to Cyprus from Malta and I was shocked to find out how back Cyprus is when it comes to internet speed and value for money, seeing I will need the internet for work, and the ability to continue work at home I am shocked that an island a fraction of the size of Cyprus, which joined the EU with Cyprus, has Liberated the telecommunications sector in the few years of accession, and is offering 30mb /20mb /10mb /8mb /2mb , (2 mb being the least u can get on the island) for a fraction of the price I will have to pay in Cyprus. I happen to come from the UK and travel because of the job I have, so I am not Maltese and i am not trying to praise the island in anyway, I just think that Cyprus needs to speed up it liberation process of certain markets, even more the I.T sector, so people like yourselves stop getting ripped off and paying 3 times the amount of money the technology is actually worth.
Don’t believe me check out- “GO Malta” and “Melita Malta” in google -
http://www.go.com.mt/Default.aspx?ID=9http://www.melitacable.com/landing.aspx?id=15It will feel like I am stepping back in time once I get my 512k internet connection in Cyprus

I have visited malta and I know it's only the size of the capital of Cyprus.
for malta is very easy to upgrade the underwater broadband lines because it's located near sicily and italy. For Cyprus it's much more difficult because greece is far from here. it's about six times further. Also the maltese network is very easy to be changed to a faster one because of the island size.
At this time there are some upgrades in our networks and we expect lower prices (1mbps around 20 euros - 4mbps around 29 euros)
as for other stuff, the prices in malta are more expensive than cyprus. I remember I saw the same recorder I bought from cyprus for 21 pounds in a shop, and the same recorder was 45 pounds at malta's airport duty free shop.
