Well, after a good year with the Netway 1024 service over the i-choice platform, it seems they have lost me for now. They appear to be traffic shaping, as I can only get 30kB/s download from my usenet server. I signed up with Wavespeed again (where I was before) and get a good constant 115kB/s.

Does anyone else download from Usenet on Netway?

Incidentally, I also play online games on UK servers but Wavespeed's ping times to the UK are crap compared to Netway. Sad

This is only temporary..Your ping times should improve by the end of the week.

My download times over the past few days (week?) are horrific - at the moment down to 20 kb/s for the latest snapshot of Ubuntu.

Fortunately only a couple of weeks before my subscription runs out.

Where did you get your information, Surfer?

Wavespeed's ping times are better now, maybe even slightly less than Netway's were. Incidently, it was unreliable ping times that forced me to leave Wavespeed in the first place, about 7 months ago.

As mentioned above, I guess this is not an issue any more Wink

It's much better now. If it stays like this, I will stay with Wavespeed. Until they start capping downloads too!
