Update 03/09/07: The upgrade of i-choice has been postponed. We will keep you informed with any further developments.

Quote
The Cyprus Telecommunications Authority, CyTA, is upgrading the speed of its ADSL Internet broadband connection service, i-Choice, with the home 1000 package going up from 128 kbps to 256 kbps on September 1 and the BusinessLite package from 128 to 512 kbps.

The upgrades will be concluded by the end of November, while the downstream speed for both packages remains at 1 Mbps.

Meanwhile, CyTA also announced that it is introducing two new higher speed packages in September, the Home i-Choice2000 with 2 Mbps downstream and 512 kbps upstream, and the i-Choice BusinessPlus with 4 Mbps downstream and 512 kbps upstream.

The connection charge is CYP 46 (EUR 78.66) for the Home i-Choice2000 that also carried a monthly subscription fee of CYP 23 (EUR 39.33), while the connection charge for the i-Choice BusinessPlus is CYP 115 (EUR 171) and the monthly subscription is CYP 97.75 (EUR 167.15).

Existing subscribers of the Home package will be able to upgrade to i-Choice2000 free of charge until December 1, while i-Choice Business customers can upgrade to i-Choice Business4000 free of charge, also until December 1.

From Financial Mirror

Our i-choice page will be updated once we receive the official information from Cyta.

Yes, that is how it was supposed to be. However to be certain we will have to wait until the official launch of i-choice2000 as things might change by then.

I don't get it! Cyta is already more expensive than many others so why should they force them to increase their prices?  Angry Or maybe I didn't understand something?  Huh
