Current NetRunner-plus users w/ i-choice1000. they will switch them automatically to 2MB/i-choice2000 when the service is available?

or you need to switch plan from CYTA, e.g i-choice1000 to 2000?

Good to know..

good luck with the new site!

Hello Chiefy,

It appears that in the last moment Cyta postponed their i-choice upgrade.

Although the news about the upgrade have been known for a while we waited until September 1st to publish them and did so only after Cytanet had confirmed that they had already been offering the new service.

Cyta's support was closed on Sept. 1st (Saturday) for a confirmation. When I called them today they informed me that the upgrade has been postponed.

Therefore for now you will not get any speed upgrade for your Netrunner plus service. The only difference with Netrunner 1000 remains the higher bandwidth priority.

However you will benefit from the lower cost since as from September 1st the cost for Netrunner plus is 18 pounds instead of 27.

Speed upgrade on the BusinessLite service is active, ping times seem slightly lower. Once the dust settles on pricing etc, it will be interesting to see how it pans out, by the looks of things, the new 4mbit offering looks quite attractive price wise.

Has the BusinessPlus package been postponed as well or is it just the home packages?

That sounds pretty much what I'm hearing No_Fear, it is a case of competition stifling progress.

The 4mbit offering does not sound so good when you add up the total cost including the Cytanet portion. The same applies to the former 1.5, now 2 mbit offering.

We are still playing catch up, sure, our upload speeds have gone up, downloads are still way behind the really serious countries in Europe, even Hungary has better and one of the players there is none other than Cyta (which has the majority stake). See:

http://www.actel.hu/index2.php?p=sajtoszoba&nyelv=eng

http://www.actel.hu/index2.php?p=akciok&nyelv=eng

Their business packages are 2,4,6 and 8mbit the lowest is around 20CYP and the top of the range is 38CYP

Home packages are 1,3,5 and 7mbit, with prices ranging from 6CYP to 25CYP

Why can't they offer similar packages/pricing here?

These prices are all in prices for the full package (ie i-choice plus ISP)
